Frequently Asked Questions

What are the different types of lash extensions you offer?

We offer three types of lash extensions:

  • Classic: One extension is applied to one natural lash, giving a natural and elongated look.
  • Volume: Multiple lightweight extensions are applied to one natural lash, offering a fuller and more glamorous look.
  • Hybrid: A combination of Classic and Volume, the Hybrid technique provides a versatile finish that’s both natural and voluminous.

How long do the lash extensions last?

We suggest booking refill appointments every 2-3 weeks.

How long until all my lash extensions are gone?

The natural life cycle of an individual eyelash spans several weeks (about 6-8 weeks), with each lash progressing through distinct growth phases. During this life cycle, your lashes naturally shed and are then replaced by new growth.

Depending on where a lash is within its individual cycle when you get your extensions, each will naturally fall out when it reaches the end of its natural lash lifespan. With the proper aftercare, our lash extensions complement this natural process without causing interference and just fall out when the lash naturally does, still attached to it.

It is important to note that since each lash operates on its own unique timeline, they won’t all shed at once. Instead, over a span of approximately 6-8 weeks, all of the lashes will have naturally shed and been replaced. However, to maintain a consistent, voluminous appearance, we recommend scheduling fills every 2-3 weeks. This allows us to add extensions to the newly grown lashes, ensuring your lash set remains full and even.

We do accommodate touch-ups as early as one week after receiving a new set or a fill, a great option before a photo session or special event.

What materials are your lash extensions made of?

Our lash extensions are crafted from high-quality silk and mink blend, ensuring a soft and natural appearance that feels luxurious.

What is the life cycle of my natural lashes? Do extensions affect this?

An eyelash undergoes its own natural life cycle that typically lasts between 6-8 weeks. Throughout this period, lashes transition through specific growth stages. It’s a natural occurrence for lashes to shed at the end of this cycle, making way for new ones to sprout.

When you opt for extensions, the natural state of each of your lashes’ cycles at the time of application will determine when it sheds. Each of your lashes will naturally be at a different stage. If correctly cared for, our extensions will adhere to the lashes and shed along with them when they reach the end of their natural phase.

Every of your natural lashes has its own growth rhythm, so they don’t all shed at the same time. Over a period of about 6-8 weeks, all lashes will have gone through their shedding and regrowth process. To ensure a continuous lush appearance, we advise clients to book refill sessions every 2-3 weeks, allowing us to supplement the extensions on the freshly sprouted lashes, retaining the volume and uniformity of your lash set.

Are lash extensions safe?

Absolutely! When applied correctly by our qualified and experienced lash technicians, lash extensions are safe. We use high-quality, hypoallergenic adhesives that are specifically designed for lash extensions.

How do I care for my lash extensions?

To maximize the lifespan of your extensions:

  • Wash them with lash shampoo every time you cleanse your face. Your lash technician will recommend a quality lash shampoo.
  • Refrain from using oil-based products near the eyes.
  • Avoid excessive rubbing or pulling at the extensions.
  • Brush them gently with a clean mascara wand daily.

Do lash extensions damage natural lashes?

No, when applied and removed correctly by a qualified lash technician, lash extensions do not damage your natural lashes.

Your natural lashes sprout, grow, and shed within a span of 6-8 weeks. Depending on where each of your natural lashes is within its normal lifespan when you get your extensions, each will naturally fall out when it reaches the end of its natural lash lifespan.

With the proper aftercare, our lash extensions complement this natural process without causing interference and just fall out when the lash naturally does, still attached to it.

Always seek a qualified and experienced professional, such as a Total Wrapture lash technician for application and removal.

How long does the application process take?

The length of the application process depends on whether it is a new set or a fill. All of our lash technicians are highly experienced and some of them are also lash educators. It typically takes our lash technicians who are also lash educators less time than indicated here:

Can I get lash extensions if I have very sensitive eyes?

While our products are designed to be gentle, if you have known sensitivities, it is always best to discuss your specific concerns with us before booking.

Our hypoallergenic adhesive has the following benefits:

  • Medical-grade (meets specified medical safety standards, making it less likely to cause irritation, allergic reactions, or other health concerns).
  • Registered as a cosmetic with Health Canada
  • Waterproof
  • Fast drying
  • Little to no fumes
  • Formaldehyde-Free
  • Hypoallergenic

Although it is uncommon, as a general rule, we recommend not getting extensions if you know you are specifically allergic to carbon or cynoacrylate.

Can I receive a lash extension service if I am pregnant?

If you are pregnant, please consult with your healthcare provider before booking a lash extension service. If your healthcare provider does not believe that there are any contraindications specific to you receiving this service, please consider the following before booking:

Comfort: As you advance in your pregnancy, lying on your back for extended periods can be uncomfortable. The lash extension application process (new set or fill) can take anywhere from 30 to 160 minutes, depending on the type and volume of lashes you’re getting. See above FAQ: ‘How long does the application process take?’ to determine how long your service will take. Ensure you are comfortable, and inform your technician if you need to adjust your position or take breaks.

Heightened Sensitivities: Some pregnant persons find that their skin becomes more sensitive during pregnancy, increasing the possibility of discomfort with products that don’t usually cause reactions. If you are getting lash extensions for the first time while pregnant, you might want to consider a patch test to check for any adverse reactions. Please call or email us to arrange this before booking your appointment.
