Loose Skin

Book An Appointment

Loose skin is a common issue as we age or undergo life changes such pregnancy or weight loss. It can appear as under-eye bags, loose skin on the abdomen, upper arms, or facial contours.

Our treatments work by targetting the deeper layers of the skin, stimulating collagen production, and promoting tissue tightening, which helps to tone and firm the skin and sculpt contours for a rejuvenated appearance.

Can you really tighten saggy skin?

Yes, you can tighten loose skin through various treatments such as radiofrequency (RF).  These treatments work by stimulating your body’s natural collagen production and promoting tissue tightening.

Depending on your age and the amount of loose skin, your Total Wrapture skin technician will assess and discuss how many treatments you should receive in a series as well as expected outcomes with you. Everyone’s skin and the amount of loose skin or muscle you may want to highlight under the skin is different.

While RF delivers spectacular results, multiple factors must be considered when assessing for expected outcomes, and the best results are seen on skin under 50 years old.

Does loose skin ever tighten back up?

Loose skin (that is not caused by natural aging) can tighten to some extent naturally over time, especially with good skincare, hydration, and healthy lifestyle choices.

However, treatments like RF skin tightening can significantly enhance and speed up this process.

Will I have loose skin after losing weight?

Losing a significant amount of weight  can result in loose skin, especially if the weight loss is rapid. However, treatments such as RF skin tightening and body contouring can help to tighten and firm the skin post-weight loss.

How does a Re-Volumizer Beauty Booster work?

How it’s done:

The Re-Volumizer Beauty Booster works by microneedling hyaluronic acid directly into the skin.

This is performed using a device that uses suction to ensure the perfect tightness of the skin for uniform distribution and depth of the product across the treatment area. It uses 9 tiny needles simultaneously to microneedle HA into the skin.

What it does:

When microneedled, hyaluronic acid acts like a sponge within the dermis, absorbing moisture and expanding. This expansion helps to fill out the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and providing more youthful, plump skin.

The added hydration also improves the overall health and resilience of the skin, making it appear firmer and plumper.

Why is there an increase in demand for RF treatments?

RF treatments have gained popularity for several reasons. One major advantage is that RF doesn’t require any social downtime, allowing clients to resume their daily activities immediately.

RF treatments are particularly popular with individuals aged between 30 to 50, offering a way to rejuvenate their appearance by tightening skin on the face, neck, and around the eyes. Incorporating an RF eye treatment into regular facial routines is an effective method to smooth crow’s feet, reduce under-eye bags, and lessen dark circles. Clients aged 50+ often combine RF with other treatments (such as laser) to boost skin rejuvenation.

RF treatments are great before special events for an enhanced appearance. However, the most significant results are observed after a few sessions, as these treatments progressively stimulate collagen and elastin production for cumulative, long-lasting results. We typically recommend a series of 3-5 treatments, spaced every 10 to 30 days for a particularly noticeable boost. In this case, it is best to have one (of these 3-5 treatments) at least once a month, or even more effectively, every 10 days.

Clients can choose from various RF treatments, including those specifically designed for the eyes, face, and neck areas, such as the TempSure RF treatment, to target their specific concerns. RF also stimulates lymphatic flushing, breaks down natural debris such as dead fat cells, and triggers the body’s natural healing responses. As a result, the overall volume in an area targeted for cellulite/contouring (often done with our FlexSure RF Body Contouring Treatment) diminishes, leading to a more toned, smooth and sculpted appearance.

How can I lift my loose skin naturally (non-surgically)?

Non-surgical treatments such as RF skin tightening, mesotherapy facials, or Beauty Booster Skin Re-volumizer can effectively tighten loose skin.

These treatments stimulate your body’s natural collagen production and improve skin elasticity (or plumpness with the Beauty Booster) without the need for surgery.

What is the cause of loose skin?

Loose skin is caused by factors such as aging, pregnancy, significant weight loss, and certain medical conditions.

As we age, our skin naturally loses collagen and elastin, two proteins essential for maintaining skin firmness and elasticity.

Pregnancy or significant weight loss can also cause rapid changes in body shape, stretching the skin and leading to a reduction in these vital proteins.

Medical conditions, such as Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, can also contribute to loose skin by affecting the skin’s structural integrity.

Lack of skin tone can become particularly evident in areas such as the abdomen, arms, and face.

Which skin-firming treatments is ideal for the specific area I want to treat?

Loose Skin After Pregnancy: RF Body Contouring is excellent for helping to tighten and firm abdomen, flank, and upper arm skin post-pregnancy.

Saggy Skin After Weight Loss: RF Body Contouring treatments are effective in addressing loose skin after weight loss.

Loose Stomach Skin: RF Body Contouring is excellent for helping to tighten and firm the abdomen and flank

Saggy Skin on Face: Best treated with RF Face Skin Tightening. For more spectacular results, combine with Re-Volumizer Beauty Booster

Saggy Skin Under Chin: With a session of multiple treatments (spaced about 2 weeks apart) RF Face Tightening help improve saggy skin under the chin. Best for skin under 50. Mesotherapy (Advanced Anti Aging) is a milder option, but fantastic for mature skin before an event.

Saggy Skin Under Eyes: Crow’s Feet RF Skin Tightening addresses under-eye bags, dark circles, and firms up eyelids.

Saggy Skin Around Mouth: Best treated by combining RF Face Skin Tightening with Re-Volumizer Beauty Booster

Saggy Skin on Arms: RF Body Contouring delivers fantastic results on arms (especially the upper arms where the skin is thinner), knees, stomachs, flanks, and thighs.

Loose Neck Skin: Neck Skin Tightening with RF is an excellent option. Pair it with a Re-Volumizer Beauty Booster (microneedled hyaluronic acid) for best results.

When microneedled, hyaluronic acid acts like a sponge within the dermis (middle layer of the skin), absorbing moisture and expanding. This expansion helps to fill out the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and providing more youthful, plump skin.

How Does RF Skin Tightening Work?

We use the Radiofrequency system, CynoSure TempSure Envi to harness the power of radiofrequency to stimulate collagen production and achieve skin tightening through a process known as soft tissue coagulation.

RF TempSure is specifically designed to tighten the skin and address fine lines, undereye bags, and cellulite, utilizing targeted heat to activate your body’s natural collagen-generating ability. The newly formed collagen fibres are tight, dense, and have a rejuvenated structure at the cellular level, leading to a more youthful, smooth, and toned skin.

What to Expect

Your experienced skin technician will begin the treatment by skillfully maneuvering the handpiece in circular or grid-like patterns over the targeted area. As you unwind, you may gradually feel a gentle warmth permeating the deeper layers of your skin. Treatment times typically range from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the size of the area being treated.

What does RF target?

Situated below the epidermis, the dermis acts as a production center for two vital proteins: collagen and elastin. These proteins are key to maintaining the skin’s strength, elasticity, and structure. Our laser and RF treatments are designed to target this dermis layer and stimulate more production of these proteins.

How does RF Body Contouring Work?

Lie back and take a nap while a warm FlexSure radiofrequency (RF) pad is applied. This soothing treatment stimulates your body’s natural processes such as the lymphatic system. This promotes the flushing and elimination of damaged fat cells, while simultaneously tightening your skin.

Your dermis is also targetted to produce collagen and elastin which enhances skin elasticity for a tightening effect.

The combined effects of these two outcomes result in visible and noticeable body contouring.
