What do PicoSure laser treatments feel like?
Most of our guests find PicoSure tolerable and require no numbing. PicoSure laser delivers energy in ultra-short bursts, and patients often compare the laser pulse to a snap of a thin rubber band. Others describe it as feeling like a spark from a celebration sparkler momentarily touching your skin. It always lasts for less time than imagined, and you’ll be pleasantly surprised to realize how soon the actual treatment itself is over.

What is PicoSure laser aftercare?
Sunscreen and extra care: UVA/UVB rays are simply never your skin’s friend. Regardless of how you care for your skin, you should always wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a high SPF (30 or higher) during the day. This is also important after a PicoSure treatment. Keep the treated area away from prolonged sun exposure.
Keep the area clean and treat it gently: Gently cleanse the treated area before bed with a mild cleanser recommended by your skin technician. Avoid using harsh or abrasive products that can irritate the skin. Let any shedding dead skin cells naturally slough off. They present as dry or flaky skin and are good news: your skin cycle is activated! After cleansing, apply a gentle moisturizer to keep the skin hydrated and help with the skin renewal process.
Follow post-treatment instructions: Carefully follow any specific or personalized instructions provided by your laser technician regarding aftercare for your unique skin. Each guest’s skin is unique and responds in slightly different ways to laser treatments. Your skin technician will recommend aftercare steps based on your individual situation.
Do not apply makeup immediately: Depending on the chosen intensity of the treatment, your skin technician will advise you on when it is best to use makeup again. In some cases, we recommended waiting for a day or two before using makeup products to allow the skin to calm properly.

How long is each PicoSure laser treatment?
The duration of a PicoSure treatment can vary depending on the size of the specific area being treated and what is being treated. However, on average, a PicoSure session typically lasts anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes.
The natural skin resurfacing process, stimulated by PicoSure laser, is triggered during the actual session and takes effect over days and even weeks as your body begins to produce new skin cells. To achieve the best possible results, we recommended a series of 3-6 treatments, ideally scheduled about once a month. This approach allows for the cumulative benefits of collagen production and gradual skin resurfacing, as each treatment promotes the growth of smoother and healthier skin cells.
How many PicoSure laser treatments will I need?
On average, your treatment plan may consist of 3-6 PicoSure sessions spaced several weeks apart to allow for a new skin cycle to replace old skin cells in the treated area. Here’s why:

What should I expect when I arrive for my PicoSure laser appointment?
1. You will begin your PicoSure laser journey with a thorough consultation with our experienced laser technicians. This important step involves a meticulous assessment of your specific needs, an open conversation about your goals, and dedicated attention to address any questions you may have about the treatment. We will work together to create a customized treatment plan that considers your unique skin and lifestyle, ensuring that your expectations align with the anticipated results.
2. Your laser technician will ensure you are sitting back or lying down comfortably while they cleanse the area you are having treated.
3. Your laser technician will then begin the treatment by skillfully maneuvering the handpiece over the targeted area. You may feel warm pulses on your skin that each only last for a split second. The actual laser treatment generally does not last for a long time. If this is your first PicoSure treatment, you will be pleasantly surprised to realize how tolerable it is.
4. Following the treatment, you may notice some redness and/or light puffiness, which is a natural response. This generally subsides that same day or the next day.
5.Your laser technician will give you personalized aftercare instructions for your unique skin. You can resume your normal activities as long as you adhere to proper aftercare, such as avoiding prolonged sun exposure.

Can PicoSure laser completely get rid of acne scars?
Yes! PicoSure laser improves the appearance of acne scars. While it may not completely eliminate deep or severe scars, it can significantly reduce their visibility and promote skin revitalization. Multiple sessions are recommended for optimal results.

What will my skin look like immediately after my PicoSure laser treatment?
Every person’s skin is different and responds differently to laser treatments. You will likely not experience all the possible ways skin can look or feel after a laser treatment, however, here are some common effects possible immediately after a treatment:
Pinkness or Redness: Your skin is likely to appear pink or reddened immediately after the treatment, resembling a common sunburn. This is a normal response and should subside within a few hours to a day or two, depending on the intensity of the treatment.
(Sometimes) Mild Swelling: Some degree of swelling or puffiness may be present, particularly if the chosen treatment intensity was more aggressive or targeted deeper layers of the skin. If it does happen, swelling is typically mild and temporary, resolving within a day or two. It does not necessitate any downtime, and most of our guests are not otherwise concerned about this slight and temporary cosmetic effect.
Sensitivity: Your skin may feel sensitive and slightly tender after the procedure, not unlike the feeling after a common sunburn. This sensitivity is usually temporary and should diminish within a day or two.
Dryness or Tightness: You might experience a sensation of dryness or tightness in the treated area. This is a common reaction and can be alleviated by following proper aftercare instructions and applying a gentle moisturizer as advised by your provider.
Immediate Improvements: While there may be some temporary effects, you may also notice immediate improvements in your skin’s texture, tone, and overall appearance. PicoSure laser treatment stimulates collagen and elastin production, leading to a smoother and more rejuvenated complexion.
The process of skin renewal initiated by the PicoSure treatment starts during the session and continues over a period of days, weeks, and even months. What will my lips look like immediately after my PicoSure laser treatment?
After the PicoSure Lip Treatment, your lips might appear swollen initially. While the immediate effect could make the lip colour seem lighter, this is a temporary outcome.
The swelling, however, can give your lips a temporary plumper appearance, which our guests usually find quite appealing. As the swelling subsides, you’ll start to notice an improvement in fine lines. For early signs of aging, we recommend starting with 2-3 treatments (about one every 4-6 weeks) to trigger multiple, natural skin cycles and see a long-lasting difference.
