Aging can be a beautiful and graceful process, especially when you take care of your skin and give it the tools to rejuvenate itself naturally.
It is a process that looks different for each and every one of us, and we all have our unique ways of ensuring we age on our own terms.
As long as you are showing yourself and your skin love and proper care, there really isn’t a right or wrong way of doing it. There are just different outcomes depending on the treatments you choose to address aging skin.
How can I know what treatment is right for my particular skin?
When it comes to skin, our medi spa philosophy is to offer you advanced options and skin education to help you learn about your unique skin and make informed decisions. Although we’re going to focus on laser and energy-based solutions in this article, we offer many different ways of caring for skin as it ages.
While we do see some of the most visible differences with energy-based treatments, they definitely go hand-in-hand with more classic treatments and proper daily care for the most spectacular results. Our non-laser facial treatments include:
- Clinical Peels & Facials
- Needle-free Mesotherapy Cocktail Facials
- OxyGeneo 3-in-1 Superfacials
- Microneedling & Hyaluronic Beauty Booster
- HydraFace Treatment, Microdermabrasion, and Dermaplaning
The best way to know what will work well for your skin is to come in and enjoy a complimentary skin consultation with our expert skin technicians. They will study your skin and give you options to support and rejuvenate your skin while providing you insight on timeline and budget to fit your goals in a way that is customized to your needs. Let’s take a look at the amazing laser and energy treatments that are revolutionizing skin care:
Best Treatments to Target Age Spots and Sun Spots
Best for darker skin tones: Our PicoSure laser uses pressure waves to treat age spots and sun spots. PicoSure has the added advantage of being suitable for all skin tones. It can also treat melasma and old acne scars, as well as resurface skin on any part of the face or body.
Best for lighter skin tones: Our IPL Photofacial treats discoloration and facial vessels using a technology called Intense Pulsed Light, or IPL. IPL addresses skin aging caused by sun damage. This includes age spots, freckles, redness, brown spots, and rosacea. It also treats unsightly veins called broken capillaries that can often be found around the nose or on your cheeks.
Targeted pigmented spots and broken capillaries sitting on the surface of the skin are lifted, absorbed, and naturally flushed away by the lymphatic system in this skin renewal process.
Both of these energy treatments improve your skin tone to give you a beautifully-even face, decollete, and hands.
Best Treatments to Target Fine Lines and Wrinkles
PicoSure laser uses pressure waves instead of heat to trigger a process called cell signalling where molecules activate cells to produce more collagen and elastin. This rejuvenates the skin from the inside out to treat fine lines, minimize pore appearance and give you smooth texture for makeup-optional skin.
Fractional Laser causes gentle, intentional injury to a deeper layer of the skin. This triggers it to enter repair mode and rebuild skin cells naturally. Light waves penetrate at different layers of the skin (epidermis and dermis) to smooth-out wrinkles. This is the same laser modality that is used to treat stretch marks and scars. The result? Visibly smoother skin!
Blended Treatments to Target Multiple Concerns in One Appointment
Targetting multiple concerns in the same appointment will not only save you time, but you will achieve beautiful skin in less time! Here are our most popular treatment blends:
Tighten & Resurface: Radiofrequency TempSure + Laser PicoSure
Because of its no down-time results, radiofrequency is becoming the norm for pre-event glow-ups. It uses targeted heat delivered as a comfortable massage to trigger tissue at a specific depth and cause the skin to tighten. The freshly-tightened skin looks rejuvenated and lifted, while undereye bags and dark circles are diminished.
After your relaxing facial TempSure treatment, a quick pass of PicoSure laser skin resurfacing lets you target your choice of revitalization: skin texture and fine lines or (with a different handpiece) pigmentation: skin tone, age spots, and sun spots. You can also opt to do both a PicoSure pigmentation + revitalization treatment during the same appointment.
Reclaim Youthful Skin: IPL Photofacial + Fractional Laser
Both of these energy treatments are used in the same appointment to target 3 of the most commonly-requested concerns when it comes to laser skin resurfacing:
- Wrinkles
- Pigmentation: Age Spots, Unwanted Freckles, Redness, & Sun Damage
- Unsightly Capillaries (little veins often seen around the nose or face)
This blend of a photofacial and laser has become so popular that it has its own name: ThreeForMe!
Red Carpet Ready: Radiofrequency Body Contouring + A Facial
This is another pre-event glow-up favourite!
A radiofrequency pad is positioned on your choice of body part to contour. This creates a comfortable warming sensation. It heats body tissue at a level deep enough to trigger fat cells and cell turnover. This causes two outcomes: your lymphatic system starts flushing away dead fat cells and your skin tightens. These two results leave you with noticeable contouring.
Popular choices for FlexSure Body Contouring are:
- Abdomen and Flanks
- Arms (especially upper arms)
- Inner and outer thighs
While this is happening, your skin technician performs a facial of your choice! A popular pre-event facial is the Dermaplaning Face Treatment which eliminates peach fuzz and dead skin for smooth, glowing skin. It preps your skin for glide-on easy makeup application.

While this is a popular blend of medi spa treatments to get before an event, it can also be performed on a monthly basis for 3-6 months for dramatic and long-lasting results. You will notice results improve after each treatment as each triggered skin cycle delivers increasingly smooth and contoured skin.

Can we do a photo facial after having Botox injected?
Hello Dorothy! Great question. Yes, you can definitely have a photofacial if you use botox. We recommend waiting 4 weeks after your last botox treatment to ensure it has had time to settle before having any energy-based treatment, such as a photofacial. If you haven’t had a recent botox treatment, we recommend having a photofacial before receiving botox so you don’t have to wait those 4 weeks.
